Artie decided to study art as a young boy while studying with my 8th and 9th grade Art Teacher. He was one of those inspiring teachers that change a student’s life. He initially studied fine art as a means to get into the advertising business as a Graphic Designer. He received my Associates Degree in Advertising Art and Design at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. Artie always loved fine art, especially drawing and painting the figure, as well as still lifes. At 37, he decided to go back to school full time to study portraiture and figure painting. He studied at The Art Students League of New York and at the National Academy of New York. My inspiration comes from artists like Michelangelo, Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Pietro Annigoni, and Andrew Wyeth to name a few.
He works mostly in oils, graphite pencil and charcoal. Artie moved to the Red Bank Area in April 1999. He am a member of the Art Alliance in Red Bank and He is an Associate Member of the Guild of Creative Art. He have shown work in several art clubs and organizations over the past few years. One tradition many families hold dear is the passing down of a portrait that has been in the family for generations. Today, there is a much broader range of people having their portraits painted than ever before. He think capturing some ones character is what He loves to do best. He loves the interaction between artist and the sitter. He enjoy meeting new people and developing long-term friendships through the process of painting someone’s portrait and producing other commissions.
